Candleight Systems has now completed the installation of 114 Lutron motorized tensioned roller shades (bottom-up shades) at the University of California Riverside’s Health Science and Surge Building.
The newly installed tensioned shades combine ultra-quiet Sivoia technology with a newly designed tension system. This new technology allows the users at UCR to defy gravity and control daylight through their specially designed bottom-up system in order to reduce glare and save energy by reducing heat gain.

Cascade Coil Metal Curtain
Candlelight Systems has been recognized for its “cool scene-setting technology of its motorized curtains and shades”. The curtains used were not any normal custom curtain, but were specially designed and made from curved cascade coil metal and perforated to encompass the contemporary feel of the curvey beachfront San Diego home.
In addition to the cascade coil draperies, Candlelight Systems included a dual system of privacy curtains for when the resident wants to block out any light. The San Diego house also has combinations of multiple custom blackout, privacy, and sheer Lutron roller shades as well as blackout room dividers that are recessed into the ceiling.
Candlelight Systems provided a Homeworks Series 4 processor due to the large number of shade and drapery drives as the interface for the Crestron system.
The Crestron control system was provided and engineered by Audio Impact for all of the Candlelight supplied products. Audio Impact was awarded due to its brilliantly engineered and custom made Underbed Lift TV. For more information on Audio Impact go to www.audioimpact.com.
