Now that you’ve met Bob, we thought you should get to know the great lady that makes up his “other-half”, Laverne Harhay. LaVerne is our Drapery Expert specializing in the design and creation of custom draperies as well as other custom window coverings. She has a real eye for design as she spent 28 years operating our family drapery manufacturing business.
LaVerne was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio until she met the love of her life, Marine Tech Sargent, Bob Harhay. She was content with being a military wife and enjoyed the various duty stations from North Carolina, Hawaii, Yuma and California. Her favorite stop was Hawaii (just a territory then) where she had her son, Tom. Laverne also has 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, whom she regards as the sunshine of her life!
Now, semi-retired, Laverne works part-time at Candlelight Systems. In her down time, she volunteers at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library where she has dedicated 20 years of her time. There she is able to apply her perfected speaking skills that she has acquired from her time she has committed to Toastmasters.
